thanks..hope you do.

The problem is, when I was looking for a car I had a £5k budget so I thought to myself I could get a vRS. I began looking and couldn't justify any of the £5.5k onward cars as my budget was £5k. I ended up buying mine for £5k.

Now I've spent like £20k on it or whatever, so it would have been a no brainer to buy something highly modified to start with, but if I had a budget of £10k at the time I wouldn't have been looking at vRS' and instead looking at VXR's or something. You're not gunna find many people that have £10k laying around and decide to get a vRS.

£25k would get you a new scooby or not far off an evo.

If your happy that's fine, but the car will never be worth anything near what you've spent on it. You have to be brave a brave person with deep pockets to be into the serious side of mod'ing cars (anyone, not you personally ;))

i done it cos i cud afford it,,i knew i'd be throwing 10k away but it was worth doin as it really was a superb car but when you have an ml55 at your disposal your king of the road..in the fabia i was a boy racer,

i done it on a whim and enjoyed it and decided to give someone else the chance to enjoy it at imo a very fair price....good luck to him.

Not trying to make a profit... And it wasn't planned. I work for myself, as money came in I spent it... Some months I turn over £0, other months I turn over £10k, it's random so I can't do finance or anything. Got a lot for a few months and just had fun with my car. It's slowed down now. :)

Turn over 10k? Doing what?

I'm in the wrong job clearly!

Many self employed people easily turn over 10k a month.

Some even do it weekly, particularly with a business and others working for you. Some do it daily...

Of course, you have costs and a fair share to give to the tax man.

So it sounds better than it is.

I pay more than double that in V.A.T. :(

And have a hell of a lot of other costs too.

As long as you have a good accountant to keep all your duty bound costs to their minimum. ;)
