KW street comfort kit coilovers

Featured Replies

I have had a previous post when I had a good moan about the suspension on my 2010 Octavia vRS cr TDI estate with DSG. The suspension is fine one motorways and well surfaced A class roads. However, on the roads around where I live the suspension is uncomfortably bumpy plus you get "shoogled" about from side to side

The owner of a very reputable local tuning centre, who has done a lot of very good work on my cars over the years, has recommended that i have a KW street comfort coilover kit fitted.

The claims on the KW web site for this product certainly sound impressive, and if the product does what they claim I reckon it would go a long way to solving my problems

However, this kit is not cheap to have installed - to help me make up my mind, I would like to hear from anyone who has fitted this particular kit to an Octavia vRS, and their views on what improvement it made, and whether it is worth the money

I am at the stage where I do not enjoy driving the car with the current suspension, and the decision is whether to part company with the car, or get the suspension sorted out. Other than the suspension, I really like the car

To be frank I've got a VRS and I don't think the ride is at all bad. I think you'd be better looking for a more comfort orientated OEM set up (ie a different car).

Try going down in wheel sizes this will give you more tyre sidewall height instead of the low profile tyres

Have you considered air ride?

I've got weitec coilovers on the car at the moment. Its fine for my daily commute, family duties and still performs great when i want to throw the car down a deserted b road like a lunatic, plus it allows me to set the height exactly where i want. Its a good compromise, but it is sometimes a little too stiff over broken tarmac but in context its more comfy than wifey's OE suspended mini cooper on 17" runflats, and massively more comfy than the 2011 WRX STI I had until recently.

Would I buy this kit again, maybe? I chose this over the KW street comforts as it was cheaper, but tbh for my next car i'll probably spend the extra and go for street comforts.

When I was doing my research I couldn't find anyone who had this kit on an octavia which is a bit frustrating. I'd love someone else to try them out first, so whatever you do please post up your results!

BTW - there will be a bunch of people along soon who will suggest KONI FSD.

Still? I thought they were a fad a couple of years ago. Not heard anyone mention them in ages.
