Poly bushing the mk2 vRS

Featured Replies

Alot of talk here about remaps, intakes, twintercoolers etc etc

but has anyone looked into replacing bushes?

are the suspension parts the same as the mk1 and are any compatible?

is there even any mk2 vRS poly bushes on the market yet??

I expect 32Kofdata, confide, Janner etc etc might have an idea

dont think they are the same as the mark I , mine would have disintigrated by now! think they are standard fabia 2 though, so uprated bushes would be useful..

don't know of any yet, as you said, some of the "modders" will post soon :)

I've looked into this, powerflex/superpro told me you can use the same kit as in the mk1. I think its needed. The kit isn't to bad price wise, however its alot of labour to fit, your looking 6hrs ish hor the full car.

Hi Simon,

Many thanks for your email

The Mk2 Fabia actually shares the same platform as the MK1 so all the bushes are the same as advertised on our website

http://www.powerflex.co.uk/products/Fabia+%282000-2007%29-230/1.html

We'll get our website changed to reflect this

You will be able to order any of these parts from any one of our worldwide Powerflex distributors listed on our website

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me

Kind Regards

Here's one of the responses. Were actually quite lucky with this chassis and rear beam suspension. We only need 8 bushes for the full kit, where as on the mk5 golf/octavia platform you need over 25 due to the independant rear suspension, so labour isn't near as bad

Jeepers thats over 260quid in parts alone according to ur link, then another 400quid labour...OUCH!!

Don't forget you only need the one set of front ARB bushes. The website shows 3 varying sizes or ARB bush for guys who have updated bars. Ref the labour, it might be worth contacting a garage as I guessed the amount of labour required based off my old cars labour cost

D'oh!!

I know Polybushes tighten everything up but do they also introduce more vibration into the chassis and therefore the cabin?

Out of curiosity, what is the "problem" with stock bushes?

The std bushes are made of soft rubber which allows less vibration and more play for a more please nt experience. Poly bushes are alot stiffer, and take up all of the slack making the steering and handling sharper

nothing considering the age of the mk2 vRS, all i simply meant is people talk alot about changing bushes on the mk1 vRS, so i was wondering why i haven't noticed any discussion about changing bushes on the mk2 vRS?

i don't intend to change them on mine because i intend to trade my car back in after 2 1/2 to 3 years and i really need to keep it standard tbh. other than a map which the dealership shouldn't pick up on.

though i might put eibach springs on and keep the originals and swap them back when i hand the car back.

Understood. So I reckon it would be a sensible choice for somebody who generally wants to sacrifice everyday comfort for a stiffer/sportier behaviour and has probably already fitted ARBs, coilovers, etc.

Instead of paying full whack to get it all done at once, couldn't you just get certain bushes done as you upgrade areas of the car? That would it be convienent and labour charges wouldn't set you back a load.

You could but i think labour would work out more in the long run, although it would be more affordable in smaller chunks
