Fuel gauge drops under hard cornering/braking

Featured Replies

Afternoon,

This may be related to my crazy ABS/Electrical issues (see here My link).

This morning my speedo is totally dead and not reading a thing, nor does the trip computer, avg mpg etc etc. However if I corner at speed or brake heavily then my fuel gauge drops from 3/4 full to 1/4 and the low fuel light pops up, then it drifts back up to where it was before. It does seem to float up and down gently during normal driving.

Any ideas?

Suspect voltage control unit behind drivers side parcel shelf. Also check (pull and replace all the relays on the relay panel.) Check scuttle panel is clean and dry and not full of dead leaves/water. If water gets into the wiring loom, it's a nightmare to fix. Double check blade fuses on top of the battery, a hairline crack in one of the fuses causes havoc.
