How much to do bushes

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Following my recent RARB modification id like to upgrade all the bushes to polyurethane Inc console etc

About how much would it cost me to have someone do that for me, supply and fit?

Thanks

Sorry, fabia vrs diesel to those that don't know :-)

Just paid £190 all in to supply and fit the uprated

genuine 4 web bushes and have the wheels realigned on

Mrs Grrs SDI.

The procedure is no different on the vRS.

So if I wanted to powerflex would I be looking to be accepting quotes for around the 180 mark?

Quoted from unit18 thread

Console bush replacement using the seat Ibiza solid bush and including alignment afterwards £135+vat

If you were supplying the bushes yourself then

I'd say £150 - £180 was a fair price at a decent indy.

The realignment is necessary as the sub-frame is disturbed

doing this particular job.

Oh I see ok, how much would the bushes set me back? Lol I'm still learning :-)

I'm guessing about £100 - am I right in saying there are 4 pairs of bushes, one of which is the console?

Don't bother with power flex console bushes, the Ibiza ones are better and cost £8 or so each. The front bush on the wishbone could be done, they are about £20 for the set (same as MK2 Golf) arb bushes are about the same, I think 19mm is still the biggest they do so lots of lube and squeeze.

Could also do rear axle bushes, they iirc are about £50 for the pair.

I've got the lot on mine, it's stiff so don't be suprised.

Thanks for the Tech1e,

So where would u say the most benefit can be felt from the upgrade?

Console bushes for sure that's the biggest change.

Go to unit 18 and have the cupra console bushes fitted!!

So am I right in saying that improves the feel of the steering or is it something else? :-)

You are right.

BTW: Steering weight/assistance is also codable, I think... through VAG COM or similar.

I supplied my own console bushes and got them fitted for £85 no alignment. Laser alignment cost another £30

lots of lube and squeeze.

Anything can be accomplished with sufficient lubrication!emoticon-0148-yes.gifemoticon-0140-rofl.gif

Anyone got the part numbers for these bushes please?
