GreenTec Yeti

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just started to discuss a replacement for my 1.2tsi Elegance Yeti (probably with another Yeti) with my dealer and expressed an interest in the GreenTec option that is available to order now in other European countries with production starting in FW45. My dealer was genuinely not aware of GeenTec and made several enquiries about it for me. He informed me Skoda UK had no knowledge of GreenTec and refered him to Greenline technology models.

I was interested in the 1.4tsi Petrol but there will also be a 2.0l 103kw Diesel with front wheel drive only model. This is already available on the Ireland configurator for the Yeti as are Superb and Octavia GreenTec models with both Diesel and Petrol Models.

On the BRISKODA Superb11 forum details are reaching dealers of the 103kw Diesel model coming to UK soon so I contacted Skoda UK this afternoon to enquire further......As expected they had not heard of GreenTec. The CC representative, Craig said he could not find any reference to it on the web but would ask his colleagues. He then came back saying it is simply another name for Greenline.

Very helpful. I did not argue but referred him to the Skoda Auto, Geneva motorshow and Briskoda sites. Skoda UK could also look at page 3 of the Skoda Greenline brochure where all the GreenTec specs are listed as well as Greenline. (GeenTec seems to be Skoda`s version of the VW Bluemotion Tech as fitted to the new Passat range.)

Anyone heard any further info on GreenTec coming to the UK?? I do not want to order a new vehicle only to find Skoda UK suddenly announcing new models with lower emmissions and fuel consumption(GreenTec) in January 2012 as has happened to several members on here in the past. By that time the rest of Europe will have extended the waiting list for this quite considerably I would imagine.

Any comments or information most welcome.

A quick Google and the only mention of Greentec models are 1.2 Fabia and Roomster models to be avail in 2012 as quoted below...

"One of the biggest innovations in the Fabia and Roomster lines is the launch of Green tec, an environmentally-friendly version designed for the 1.2 TSI/63 kW and 1.2 TSI/77 kW engines with manual transmission. Green tec will also be available for the Fabia with the three-cylinder 1.2 12V HTP/51 kW engine. The attractive Scout version will be optionally available with LED daytime headlamps, and the (special-edition) Family models will offer both the existing black upholstery and a brand new a blue interior."
