Hello welcome to the forum, you might want to repost that in the Octavia section then I'm sure someone will be along to help you out

Hi and welcome aboard.

Welcome. The problem is most likely to the pulley on the alternator which has a one way clutch built in, when the clutch seizes it makes the tensioner rattle around and ultimately knackers it. You can find out more in the Octavia I forum.
