Fabia Dash Blank Removal

Featured Replies

Been looking on good old google for a while and I cant find any threads or posts about how to remove the dash blanks on the fabia.

I had a little look and slide a blunt knife underneath and the blank appears to pop out about half way. But after that it does not want to budge. I dont fancy yanking it and snapping any clips off.

How do people remove them??

Any advise would be great :)

UPDATE

Ive manged to pop the blanks off but my goal was to actually get to the ASR button, looking at it, its held into the dash in a diffrent manner. So my revised question is.

How can I pop off the ASR Button, Its not a massive issue if it will call a problem. I found a spare red 501 bulb (assuming the asr button is lit with one) thought it might look quite nice. If not would have reveresed it. Any thoughts :giggle:

Should just be clips on the left and right sides of the button (or top and bottom I don't recall) Pushing them down with a stanley knife blade or similar might free it up. :)

Don't think it's meant to be lit as it brings a light on the dash when you switch it off

So when its night time and you turn on your lights, your dash and dials dont light up? :|

No they light up. It's the button which doesn't have a light in it

At night when the side lights are on the ASR does light up so that you can find it in the dark, when pushed it lights up the ASR lamp on the dash. The problem is that it does not take buld but has a led soldered in place but you can change it but its not easy

Hope this helps

Suggestion:-

With either side blank and rear heater screen button removed, you can gently place a finger either side of ASR switch and push it whilst wriggling it outwards.

The blanks and switches are all pushed/ levered outwards, slightly easier with radio removed.

Dash blanks have clips on both sides (you found that out though...). The end blanks have "feet" that go under the side panels trims or cup holder pieces at the sides. The ASR and rear screen demist button are held in place by friction - by two metal springs each. Wiglle/waggle them and they'll pop out.

Thanks everyone for the replys, but Karl has hit the nail on the head. If there soldered in ill leave it. Was hoping it was just a small 501 behind it.

Scrap that idea then :D
