Broke the miss's car...doh

Featured Replies

Hi all.

The miss's has a mk4 golf 1.6 SE and its been running like poo. Poor idle, slugish etc. Scaned it and fault codes pointed towards the throttle body clean.

Anyways cleaned the throttle body and started the engine and noticed it wasnt running very well so did a scan and cam up with the MAF fault.

Me being the numpty forget to connect the plug on the MAF. Connected it back up and it all stabalised.

Tried to reset the throttle body position and it wont let me. Spoke to a local VW specialist and explained the problem and he said 'yeh some engines you just can reset the throttle postion, just need to let them settle down, especially if I started it with the MAF disconnected'

what do you guys think? Idle is hunting. Measuring block 098.

gaz

It will be fine - dont admit to anything............ :|
