Bolero Stereo - bluetooth / iPod / usb

Featured Replies

I've had a 2010 Octavia VRS DSG estate for just two months now. Had really wanted a VW GTI but £20k for a year old one vs £12500 for a year old vRS = no choice ! However I decided that I wanted to play my iPod and use the mobile through the Bolero. After a bit of searching about I chose a Denison 500 interface because everything would be discretely hidden away from sight plus control it all from the MFS wheel. There were a few teething problems in terms of understanding how it all works (the instructions are pretty haphazard) but now that I've grasped it it really does work with a clear display in the centre cluster plus on the Bolero itself. Cost £300 (supplied and fitted) which is a lot cheaper than upgrading to a Kenwood unit and looks a lot better than the Parrot kit everyone was pushing.

Have been thinking about doing similar for some time. Can I ask what phone you have connected, I'll be wanting to connect an iPhone (3GS & 4S).

I've just (half) fitted a Dension Gateway Five to my 55 Plate L&K with Columbus. Full integration with Maxidot, MFSW and the Columbus for all of the MDI functions (ipod, usb and aux in) and the handsfree telephone.

About £230 from a car audio specialist. The trick with Dension kit is to make sure you have the latest firmware.

I got the Dual CAN-BAP version to guarantee compatibility with the Columbus to get all of the touchscreen bits working as per an OEM setup.

Need to work out where to hide all of the bits now.....

I'm waiting to take delivery of my new OctyVRS in march and have in mind to swap the bolero with a Columbus and a BT unit and was thinking of the Denison. Probably best to swap at same time to minimise labour. Where did you get yours fitted? And is it all hidden away? Lastly do you get artwork on the display?
