Roadhawk or similar

Featured Replies

Tempted to get one and just need some advice on them. With the amount of morons who've been cutting me up lately I wouldn't mind something like this. Plus I wouldn't mind watching good spins back too

I have been looking round the net at this and others available.

In terms of what is displayed the RoadHawk dc1 looks decent value for money & there is an offer around to buy 2, 1 front, 1 rear.

Have also found that these can be hard wired in.

I spoke to my insurance company today to see if they will reduce my isurance, but it seems that they have yet to reach the major insurers & the potential benefits.

Anyone else got one?

Have a look in the yeti section at the only project journal and you'll see sample footage and everything

I had a RoadHawk RH-1 in the front of my car for a while - the Wife now has this.

I've now got a BlackVue Standard Def pointing out the rear window, and a BlackVue HD pointing out the front.

They are, EXCELLENT, and i feel much happier with them fitted. - Drop me your email address, and i will forward you some clips if you wish. (mainly from the SD as the HD has only been in a few weeks)

I also leave them on when parked, just incase someone hits me and does a runner!

Yes and I like it.

It's the GPS version so when you have an accident you can see where on google maps it was, what direction you were travelling in and your speed. Plus the video image of course.

HD version due within the next three months so you may be able to get one on a discount or 2nd hand if you want the standard one.

Only thing they are not very good at is picking up registration numbers as the quality isn't always good enough.

That's the main reason I'm going to upgrade to HD.

I fitted my new Blackvue 400 HD cameras back and front today.

Very impressed.

This is a far worse quality version than the original due to upload times on youtube, but you get the idea.

The footage is great right off the device. I didn't think drive recorders could be so clear!

I have wondered about getting one of these, esp after an accident I had last year whereby I think the only reason I was cleared of any liability was because a witness came forward - had she not done so, it would simply have been a case of my word against the other driver's. With film footage though, it would have been very obvious he was at fault.

Can these things be hard wired into the car's power supply? Don't really like the idea of a wire dangling from the cam down to the ciggy lighter.

Just noticed on the Blackvue website that there's a note that says "Special Discounts

for Car Clubs" - might be able to sort out a discount for Brisky members?

Looks fantastic where's the best place to get one?

We can get 10% off RoadHawk cameras too. I've got the discount code, I just need to set it up with Colin D.

I did a google search for a group buy... which led me to the Land Rover Discovery 3 forum: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic69262-45.html

Second post up from the bottom has a link so you can buy direct.

I paid by paypal and they arrived Thursday, after two days at £50 off each. (about 25% discount)

I really wanted the HD version of the Roadhawk when it comes out, but this offer was too good to pass up on and I don't know how much behind blackvue Roadhawk are.
