Jabba - DSG?

Featured Replies

been reading with interest the stuff about jabbasport and the dsg gearbox - is the consensus that if you get the TDI with DSG that *any* tuning's a bad idea, or is it possible to get jabba to remap the ECU to give more BHP without a big torque spike?

cheers

Power and torque pretty much go hand in hand.....remap a diesel you'd probably get a big wodge of extra torque.

Generally speaking the torque plot will look pretty flat.

I wonder if the DGS is the same unit across teh VAG range. The 3.2 TT has DSG and a lot more power than a remapped 2.0tdi. Maybe someone with ETKA could check part numbers?

Interestingly I've checked both the Audi and Skoda websites, and it would seem that both the 3.2TT and 2.0PD Octavia produce the same amount of torque (320Nm)!! IIRC the DSG box is limited to 350Nm, so both are pretty near the limit already

Yupp the torque limit is 350 NM. Speaking to AMD to about this, they told me that they have remapped 2.0 TDI's with DSG to around 365 NM without any problems. What they can try to do is to cap the torque at 350-365 and rather have the torque band go through the entire rev range in a flat curve. This if course is very hard to accomplish and may require other mods. Im currently planning something along the lines...
