Help needed car in garage and problems!

Featured Replies

Hi all

Hoping you can help.

I bought a valeo clutch kit with the solid g60 fly wheel on eBay and have put it into my garage to be fitted, they rang me today and said the clutch isn't right and there is really loud chattering when the car is started. He said that the cover plate looks too thick and that it looks like there isnt enough clearance. The wording from the Advert is;

Designed for:

Volkswagen Golf 1.8 Turbo & 1.9 TDI MKIV 5 speed models

The garage ordered a sach clutch kit for me which they said is the right one and said it looks about 10mm thinner than the one I ordered...

Can anyone offer any advice - have I been sent the wrong clutch?

John

Thought it was a g60 fly wheel and a VR6 clutch?

Just googled it and you need a g60 flywheel and a vr6 clutch to convert it

Grrr have just heard from the supplier who say the kit is 100% correcy

The supplier has probably given you the correct clutch for your car did you give them your number plate number or say its for a octy vrs? If it says its for a 1.8t etc then its the wrong one. You need to say its for a golf mk3 vr6

Ah ok, this may be the issue then, I did check specifically that it was for my car and they said it was.

To be fair my mechanic spoke to them and said that the LUK clutch would fit fine and they have ageed to pay for the LUK and the extra labour..... Not bad ay.... And it was tecniclutch, I have to say I have never ever had better service from and company!

I have a genuine g60 flywheel and a sash vr6 clutch and release bearing,

Fitted perfect and not had a problem since, no vibration or no worse than when duel mass was in with superpro dogbone mounts fitted, added advantage is you can sit in traffic without your left knee aching from pressing clutch pedal
