Cheap Octavia Ebay wishbones

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Recently I have seen several sets of cheap wishbones £40 a pair on ebay.. seeing as both my rear wishbone bushes are shot I am looking at replacing them and thought I could get a set of the new arms and then polybush them, replace bushes in my old set with normal bushes, give them a lick of paint and sell them for a bit of money back.. Are these wishbones £40 for a reason?

I'm not bothered about the grade of the bushes as I want to polybush both bushes with the wishbone kit from superpro but are the arms going to be soft as cheese? lol

Any help would be great

Should be OK if replacing bushes but what about the quality of the balljoint too?

I would be very careful with "cheap" Ebay arms as ive seen these fail before, thankfully at slow speeds so no one was hurt, ive seen them crack, bend & in some cases seperate around the welds,id only fit genuine or a well known pattern part.If the arm fails at speed you could end up having a bad accident, stuff is cheap for a reason.

I've read about them snapping aswell

Thought that this might be the case hence posting this thread!

Many thanks, will stick to decent stuff..

I will have a pair of original wishbones soon, just need to get my finger out and finish swapping them over lol

You can buy a wishbone which is genuine quality for £25 with bushes.

Don't touch that ebay tat.
