Wierd (...or what)

Ok - 2.0 TDi Elegance with a few toys received October 2004......

The first 6K miles were great - no problems. The world drifted by (swiftly) and I had not a care in the world....then....

Three of the car windows had dropped by 4-5 inches whilst parked one day (all but drivers). Fould it like this upon return to vehicle. No signs of external meddling. Absolutely positive that everything was closed when I left.

Around three weeks later. Alarm went off after doors had been unlocked and continued to sound whilst engine started/car locked/bonnet open/car opened again. Then shut the hell up and hasn't done it since.

Twice I have turned the steering wheel rapidly whilst at low (but not stationary) speed. Initially heavy - then suddenly oodles of power steering (felt like a total lag). :slant:

Today.....car would not unlock/lock/boot open no matter what button pressed on the fob. Unlocked car with key (thank god they still have the trusty ol' slot) and started the engine. Everything normal except the steering wheel shaped light on dash stayed on and was amber! (went off eventually). After parking and locking with the fob - everything was back to normal. :pimp:

Now.....how long does anybody think it will be before I will be stuck on the side of a motorway...? :weeping:

Hey presto - done! Sounds very much like your car needs a visit to your dealer.

just put your hazard lights on and stay with the thread. I'm sure one of the moderators will be along shortly to move it :)

EDIT: And while I was typing that, Denis came roaring up with blues'n'twos going, and did the necessary ;)

 Many thanks!

Think you may be right about that. It is going for a tow bar to be fitted in mid April and there are a couple of niff naff things that they are going to look at. (took them ages to get a tow bar sorted!). :ready2go:

Thing is - she is a really great car. Just get the impression I have upset her somehow and she is having the hump! :argue:

Oh by the way - I am a firm believer of running in engines, which I most certainly did with this one and at nearly 9K miles, I still haven't had to top her oil up yet - unlike friends who have VAG type vehicles.... :D
