Had a few little issues with the VRS

Featured Replies

Just thought id post up abit of information up about the issues and results of my vrs, (not to worry people).

Firstly it started out with high oil consumption from 900miles onwards still while running the car in to what the handbook says, asin it used 600ml to 300mile so the dealer told me to take the car back and carry out consumption test as they were trialing new pistons and rings on another car, however a week after getting the car back it cut out while driving and would not start again.

After having the car recovered to the dealer, the oil consumption was solved by a new engine put in the car along with a new turbo, and the issue for cutting out was due to a fuel pump actuator seal.

So after owning the car for 8 weeks iv only had it 4 haha but im keeping confidence in the car cause it is a lovely car and just hoping i was unlucky with my engine and it wll not happen again.

Not good mate, at least its fixed. Only heard of stories like this on the Seat forum where alot of Bocanegra and Cupra owners had problems, think it was the early batch of engines. When was it registered?

Its a 61plate with 2k on it, my mate got polo gti with 7k on clock and is having new piston rings so maybe a common thing, but hoping its fixed so i can enjoy the car and the reasoning why i bought a vrs

I would advise running it in by driving normally, not carefully. mine was an early 60 plate... 20,300 miles now, and only 250 mil of oil in the last 10k... to be honest, I was being OCD it was still comfortable between min and max, so would have run the last 10k without top up..... engine is running faultlessly... better when cold starting now too due to the software update

hope you dont get anymore problems

Yeah, i am just normally and it doesnt go over 3500rpm so...should be fine, just dont put foot down rather not risk it until iv done atleast 1000miles, and thanks i have fingers crossed ha

that doesnt sound good imo only done 2k and needin a new engine and turbo, at least its in warranty so u wont have to pay a penny
