Ford Focus 2 tdci engine

Featured Replies

A friend did an oil change on his 2 litre TDCI 56 Reg Ford Focus estate and unfortunately didn't re-attach the oil filter assembly correctly from what I understand. The oil light came on less than 2 miles from home, so he carried on, least to say he didn't make it home and has now been without the car for around 6 weeks. The garage it is in are unable to find a replacement engine. I said I would put the word out on here to see if anyone across the country could help.

I don't have the finer details of the engine code and so on. However I can get these from him if needed. If anyone has any ideas or knows of a scrap / accident damage Ford Focus 2 litre TDCI engine I would be very grateful.

Just had a quik look on ebay, they not cheap! found a few under £1000 but im guessing they will not share the same engine as the mondeo?

Isnt it just the 130bhp Peugeot hdi engine

shares the same engine as smax,galaxy,peugeot 307,308,3008,5008,407,607. citroen c4,c4 picasso,c5. volvo c30,s40,v50,v70, s80.

The older tdci in the mondeo and other larger cars tended to be based on the 130bhp engine, but the older focus is the 115bhp 1.8TDCI.

The peugeot/citroen (HDI) versions have different parts attached, sometimes including different injection systems.

This of course doesn't mean you couldn't use the block and possibly the head, just that some of the old parts would need to be re-used.

The turbo is the thing you want to match, so you don't have to replace that separately as that's going to be knackered if the car ran out of fuel.

Many thanks for all of the help! I will let him know this, particularly if it is compatible with other vehicles. I would imagine the block, pistons, rings, big end, etc is what he will need after oil starvation. :S
