Are they black black or some sort of dark grey?

Very dark grey charcoal

Thanks seb!

Mine are black, they go dark charcoal when super dirty!

Mine look like very dark anthracite when clean and in sun light

Maybe this helps?

They are certainly not black... Very dark grey/anthracite is more like it, not black though, you can see it's brighter than other black parts in the picture.

Thanks guys! I'm getting the idea now. I have found a VRs owner who is selling them (his upgrading to bigger brakes) so it seems that this will be a good upgrade for my car. Maybe the whole car will look too black but it doesn't bother me.

No, it will look just fine...!

Then you'd need only the front "face" of the vRS to complete the transformation! :giggle:

Since you went so far already, I think it would be a reasonable next step!

True that but one hell of an investment. :( Doesn't matter, we can't have everything - I'm happy for now with what I got. :)

they are worth the investment, loving mine, hope you enjoy them

I'd have said they're almost piano black. They're very shiny when clean and I'd definitely say they are black. Guess it depends on the light/amount of dirt on them!

If they were genuinely black, I would have bought these because they match the roof.

But, because they aren't, I bought silver ones!

does anyone know the exact paint or colour code for these wheels? i've annoyingly manged to scrape/kerb a couple of my wheels, and as car is only a few months old, i want to get these repaired, probably by wicked wheels, and need the paint code so it can be done in the exact colour. thanks!

Any kind of half decent wheel refurb company should have access to all the manufacturers paint codes, you shouldn't have to provide it for them.

Paint code: FL8

oh right ok, thanks! i thought wicked wheels sounded good enough, i've heard of them before, and it would be handy if someone could come over to my house and do it. or can anyone recommend anyone else?

Lepsons in Swindon could be too far for you. MyAlloys in Basingstoke looked promising also.

I went to MyAlloys in Basingstoke and they said it would be £95 per wheel, and they basically wouldn't be able to maintain the diamond cut edge. If I wanted it repaired they have to be rid of the chrome lip round the wheel and make it all the same colour, which I didn't want, and wouldn't match the others. Am just going to buy a new one from the skoda website for £136
