Picture Request - Audi flat fives

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm thinking about making an offer on a set of wheels for my vrs. However I'm a bit slow to do so as I don't know what they'll look like.

Has anyone seen these on a vrs? Been looking for ages but have had zero luck.

No, but I'm looking forward to seeing the results :)

Don't recall ever seeing them fitted - should work well though. My feeling is you'd need to be running a fairly low ride height on coilovers for them to work fully though.

I have often fancied a set on my Mk2... Hope someone finds some pics.

That's another hurdle afterwards.

I was also worried about the weight of the wheels affecting my the car compared to the 18" Zeniths currently on it.

You'll have more luck finding a set if you call them by their "proper" nickname fat fives :)

I keep wondering about trying a set of these too, but I'm not sure if even really low, they'll work on the Octavia. The 20" Cantonas certainly work though and that's kind of just a bigger version - well, similar at any rate.

Do they actually fit a MK2 Octavia. Unless you get a replica set then I believe you are going to be out of luck unless you can get them in 5x112 fitment, I have seen them on Fabia MK1s and Octy MK1s but these models use 5x100 fitment.

mannyo - you're thinking of TT Comps, these are a different wheel, OEM in 5x112 :)

That's correct. The ones I'm looking at are 18x8.5 5x112.

I looked at a set to be my winter wheels but I couldn't really justify the noney the bloke wanted.. Good looking wheels though.

Post a side-on pic of your car and I'll photoshop some on for you.

I THINK Stamsaas has these on his blue vrs estate, wheels are painted white. His are 20" though.

Correct, but their not 100% identical;

That's close. Nice car too.

They have a polished face on them so fingers crossed someone has spotted them somewhere.

Stamsaas's are Cantonas.

Wow. Blast from the past! I kinda like them. Get em, so long as you never want a brake upgrade ;)

Brakes will be staying, if they are originals I reckon it wouldn't be an expensive experiment. They should sell on easily enough. Anyone handy with photoshop?

FWIW the 18" flat fives do come up on eBay every now and then (they are A8 rims) and generally seem to go for 400-500quid.

I think they would look great on a vRS and would fit just right.

Don't like those, sorry. ..and ET32 will stick out loads.

Only about an inch and the zeniths need spacers anyway imo.
