Rear top Brake light glowing

Featured Replies

I know some while back a topic on the top rear brake light staying on was brought up.

Could I be reminded about why ?

I believe it was the water from the pipe,I made the mistake of using too much water for the rear window.

The light is now shielded with tape and still can be seen when the brake is applied

Hi, it was me who posted that original topic.

Yes, it's the washerpipe behind the quarter panel that has come apart, and soaked the electrical multiplugs next to the push-together join in he pipe. The washer fluid is conducting enough current to light the high level stop light.

Mine was actually fizzing due to the amount of washer fluid there.

Reattach the pipe, and neutralises the washer fluid with fresh water, then dry out by taking the plugs apart and giving them a good soaking with WD40. I sorted mine nearly 3 years ago, and haven't had any further problems at all.

Hope this helps
