Mw3 very good!

Featured Replies

Loving it, a few connectivity issues to sort out but apart from that all good me thinks!

PC???

I'm going with 'meh' at best so far

It's just the same as the others, I think the franchise has run out of ideas, dunno may grow on me

Hasn't that got a terrorists murdering people on the tube part?

Little tasteless.

Probably, they like to court controversy

Just waiting for the Daily Mail to pick up on it!

Looks a bit samey, getting a mixed reception. Not fussed, cant top BF3. B)

I thought the same, getting a bit 'old hat' now. Theyre just riding on the back of the other games to sell it. They do need some fresh ideas with where to go with the game. Ill still play it, just not like i used to. Btw- on ps3

Mw3 very good!

Sorry to hear the bad news, it should cheer you up, if your a fan of the series then I rekon you will enjoy it, the multiplayer seems a lot faster action packed than previous series, loving how they've done the kill streaks, the perks are good, maps are brill, only a few complaints, 1 not many assault rifle choices early on, 2 flash bangs and explosions seems a bit too powerful. Apart from that it's good, I think a lot of people want to hate it to be different instead of joining the masses!

I'm enjoying campaign, but only for the story.

It's very samey! Let's hope multiplayer is a bit better.

Abu never been a fan of the cod campaign. Always used them for multiplayer and that's it.

Survival mode is genius

Kill confirmed is nice aswell

I lost interested in the Call of Duty series after buying MW2 at a midnight launch and seeing that they are just not innovating any more. They have used the same engine since CoD 2 just with small improvements, and granted the first Modern Warfare was epic. Since then they have somehow managed to get a cult following (ironically from mainly under 18s, which is contrary to their age certification) who seem to be more focused on the latest pointless features such as new weapon sights and remote control exploding cars. In my opinion, this is pointless crap for a shooter. Therefore, from a marketing perspective with the massive hype and cult they've created, all they have to do is reuse the same old engine, make a few new maps and it'll still sell massive amounts. In my opinion, their success is completely undeserved.

Marketing and finance wise, they're doing great. CoD is a cash cow. They're spending sod all on R&D and simply reusing the same core logic in every game (again, same engine since CoD 2) just with new bits and bobs.

But from a game development student perspective and enthusiast perspective, it annoys me. Their success is not deserved. BF3 is a fantastic game and they have put a LOT of effort into Frostbite 2. They deserve to succeed much more than CoD.

I don't think their lack of innovation can pay off much longer. Hopefully their reinvented crap will soon be condemned to the history books and as the teenage boy audience slowly grow out of their crap they'll realise that it wasn't worth wasting the same money on over and over again for the same junk.

Rant over.

Its still a good multiplayer IMO though, I get what your saying, I think the best thing infinity ward should do would be to wait for about 2 years before releasing the next in the series so it can be really different, like what halo reach did, halo 3 was amazing but reach is one of my fab games ever, hopefully the halo series won't go crap without bungie,

Yep undoubtedly the multiplayer is very enjoyable, however you can experience 99% of the same stuff from the first Modern Warfare to the third... Personally I prefer Battlefield multiplayer... the vehicles, scale and speed of play is much more enjoyable as for me I don't enjoy fast paced willy nilly chaos like on CoD. Also I find that the "learning curve" for CoD is just huge for multiplayer. It's not a game you can just pop online and play and enjoy. If you were to play just a couple of hours a day, you'd just spend your entire time online getting terrible K:D ratios because people are just ridiculously good compared to the average newcomer. This is obviously not good fun at all and is sadly the same for most multiplayer FPSs.

I think what they would have been better doing is just purchasing a license for say the Unreal engine and rewriting the game to actually utilise decent next gen graphics and physics. That way they have a good compromise - it's quicker than writing their own engine and they still get an awesome engine that is utilised in games such as Bioshock and Gears of War.

That is what Infinity Ward do, every 2 years. The next CoD release will probably fall back to Treyarch, etc, etc.

I agree there needs to be some major innovation but having not played Battlefield maybe I missed it.

Graphics in consoles are falling behind badly now anyway, granted cod needs an overhaul to win people over now, I think the fans of the series will love it but if not then no it won't do anything new, I'm not an avid fan, but a lot of my friends play, and I enjoy the very fast pace, so that what makes it for me, I hate the campaigns in cod, I don't even bother playing them.

The worrying thing is they took two yeas to release the exact same game.

Just wtf were Infinity Ward doing!?

Pass, because it really is exactly the same game!

Treyarch do it much better.

Apparently it only takes 3 hours to finish even on Veteran. I know it's mainly about multiplayer but for a game that can cost £50 that's shocking. I'm not getting it

Who ever told you that is lying it's actually a fairly hard campaign, no it's not very long about 7hours in total.

ive spent about 3 hours and im just about 50% through and i havent died very often so not a lot of wasted time, i guess it depends on the settings used and if your used to this type of game

for me its very same old but i bought it for the multiplayer and until the hackers spoil it its very good
