Featured Replies

Ok guys after a long time away I'm looking to swap my scooby for an octy , I have been offered a 02 plate black vrs 98k loads of paper work old mot ect but no service book , now my scooby is up around 2k in value and a mint example and I am torn what to do , any help and opinions will be appriciated

If it has receipts for services and oil etc etc, I would go for it. Obviously if it sounds rough or rattly, walk away. Have a look at the oil too. If it's crystal clear, beware becuase it has probably just been changed by the seller.

Maybe get in touch with Skoda to see if they have any history on record for it.

My history is null and void since I took ownership, but it's always been bang on for anything needed doing, I just ain't noted it anywhere.

So real history but well looked after service wise, could do with a wash and hoover though

No history doesn't always mean no services etc

Correct. Mine doesn't have any history since 2009, as I have done everything to it myself, but since then, it has probably had more work done to it than it has in it's entire life!!

Don't plan on ever selling it, so don't see the need to prove the servicing etc when I know that it's been done.

Good point here. So when I come to sell my Octy, I will keep back the last lot of dirty oil, and put that

back in the sump, to convince the prospective purchaser that all is well, and I am not trying to dupe him.
