Engine noises

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been trying to isolate a vibration I get in my new superb 2.0 tdi , when driving at around 1500-2000 rpm. I've tried the solution in the airbox intake, but it doesn't look like it produces any kind of vibration at all in my case.

What I hear when increasing rpm with the car stopped it's a sound over the engine noise, getting louder and louder as rpm increase. I would like to know if it's a usual engine noise, or if it sounds strange to you.. I've had other tdi before but never noticed this other sound. I've recorded a video of it without the engine case on, you can clearly hear it, almost covering up the usual engine sound, at around 00:30.

Thank you very much in advance.

Not sure what I was supposed to be listening to, it sounded like a diesel to me, but there's a bit of a buzzing.

If it's not the injectors ticking, perhaps it's just a piece of plastic vibrating?, there have been a few threads on this subject.

I've found two of those post, but both were about the air box intake located at the right side of the engine... I tried the solutions they found but they didn't solved my problem, sadly.

Do you know about other plastics that could be vibrating? I don't see anything wrong...

Thanks
