Fabia VRS Hazards.

Featured Replies

Now, i have searched, and came up with a few things but nothing really the same as mine.

Bought a fab VRS yesterday, drove home fine, out this morning, drove fine, then stopped at my parents and the hazard lights triggered but no alarm, i have founf that if i touch the brakes they switch on, and off using the brakes usually. Hard bumps trigger them, the switch does nothing, doesnt make a difference even if its not plugged in. i have found if i remnove the dash panel fuse it seems to stop, so is this certainly the panel? before i go and fork out £419.87 to skoda for a new one...

Thanks in advance.

How hard are you braking when they come on?

Hmm. If I had my Haynes manual handy I could have a look at the electrical drawing and maybe point you in the right direction.

I would brake the circuit down bit by bit. Check relays, wiring. Take the bottom tray off under stearing wheel and wiggle the wires. Something's shorting to energise the coil on the flasher relay.

Hope this helps

Don't go buying new bits till you KNOW for sure what's faulty.

You can touch the brake pedal and they'll come on, even with the ign off. It does the same with the clutch. I have also since found I have no power to the radio on the 12v perm.

It's sounding very much like chaffed wiring. They come On and off with bumps. So it's looking very much like a wire grounding.
