Oulton Park Saturday 10th December

Hi all, first post here. I was the person in the retro Skoda! - It was just purchased and after years of Oval racing, we are heading into the land of rallying and wanted to give the car a good run and basically iron out any problems or issues. Well quite frankly the car appears bullet proof! Its not the fastest thing in the world although with the dry line and on the last few laps we did manage to pass a few things! (Must of been strange getting passed by a Skoda 130 when in a TVR!) Anyway it was a cracking day and has helped me think that I may have made the right decision in leaving the oval world behind!

Hi Steve

Welcome to the site.

No offence intended above it's just i'm pretty sure you were the only thing i was faster than! :D

I had assumed that there was some sort of competition preparation behind your attendance given the serious amount of work that seemed to have gone into the car (although not as much as the 911 GT3 race car!)

Glad you had a good day. I enjoyed the afternoon much more than the morning as it seemed quieter; meant the dry line could actually be used rather than constantly ducking out of the way.

Good luck on the rallys!

Hi PastyBoy, no offence taken at all, it probably was the slowest thing out there, but we were happy that by the end of the day it seemed pretty much on the pace, not bad for a car that hasn't turned a wheel in anger for quite a number of years previously! The main aim for us was to get used the the car and give it a really good shake down test and we acheived that so I'm a happy bunny! Hopefully we should be competing in a rally at the end of february. I am looking at maybe one more track test before it competes. Trying to figure out weather to run a locker on her as the box and most of the drive train is off for rebuild at the mo. The afternoon session was alot more fun, alot quieter and for us poor RWD'ers alot stickier! lol.
