Hi all,

I have just joined the forum today having found the site when researching dashboard problems on my Octavia, this is my second Octavia, my first was a company car, a base spec 1.9 tdi from 2008, I ran it up to 120000 miles before it went back, the car was just fantastic and behaved beautifully throughout my ownership other than the layshafts in the gearbox were getting very noisy by the time it went back (we had a fleet of 40+ Octavia's and most of them were getting noisy by the time they were de-fleeted)the company replaced them with Peugeot 3008's so I left the company!! (I am told they are going back to Octavia's next year!) I had the joys?? of a Vauxhall Insignia after that, it only broke down twice in the 20000 miles I suffered it and it never managed to achieve more than 45mpg! anyway I now find myself back with a trusty W reg 1.9 SLX Octavia, just gone round the clock, averages 53mpg and (having sorted the dashboard fault) it works perfectly...you know sometimes its just nice to feel at home again

Hi and welcome aboard.
