Auto-dimming mirror

Featured Replies

I'm getting annoyed with my auto-dimming mirror. If I'm driving on the motorway in close traffic at night it dims to such an extent that it's black and all I can see are dots of light on the cars behind. I want to be able to see the rear view properly, not shadows.

Is there any way to adjust it or turn it off?

Thanks in advance

PS I've posted this in the Superb section as well but thought some Octavia peeps might be able to help too

Seem to remember with my Superb Tdi130 comfort, that sticking my finger over the front sensor on the mirror made it go light at night? maybe try taping it over?

Not sure the octy 1 has an auto dimming mirror, octy 2 does though, so you might do better off posting there?

I think that some models (post 2004?) have a button on the bottom so that they can be switched off.
