How to change side light bulb on FL?

Featured Replies

Prob a stupid question but...

I have removed the head light block but don't seem to have enough space to get to the side light bulb. I can just reach it and I appear to be able to turn/twist but it doesn't appear to want to come out and I don't want to break it.

I am sure its easy once you know how...

Kind Regards

Kyle

It is a push fit, all-be-it a tight one.

The headlight is designed to slide out to allow improved access, the process is detailed in the ownerns manual.

Hi

Kyle, were you able to get the side light bulb out in the end. I am in the process of changing the whole light units and I am swapping the bulbs from the old unit to the new one. I've moved the low beam, the indicator bulb and the headlight bulb (which now doesn't seem to be working, not sure why). But I can't get the side light bulb out despite pulling it quite hard with pliers. Can you help? The link above doesn't show the removal of this particular bulb. Cheers

Does you MkII Fl Octavia have DRLs?  If so the sidelight (parking) bulb is only there to fill a hole and is not connected.

That depends.

If it's a FL vRS with LED DRL, then yes, however if it's an FL L&K or Elegance (and maybe others) with halogen DRL next to the fogs then the sidelights are used.

On my FL they are loose enough to be removed with just fingers so with some long needle nose pilers you shouldn't have any issue. They are just a push fit so there is no need to twist but it may help.
