Strange windscreen wiper fault

Featured Replies

Noticed today an odd thing happening...sometimes.

On intermittent setting the wipers occasionally start going constantly i.e. like at position 2. While it's doing this, it's impossible to turn them off...even by switching the engine off. Eventually it goes back to normal, and can stay like that for a while.

Washers work fine, rear works fine, medium speed and fast speed all work fine.

I'm stumped, any ideas?

Take the fuse out , give it a bit of a clean and replace could be condensation, also try key in door method to reset electrics

I'll give that a go...thanks.

Well, the fuse angle didn't do anything, in fact the wipers were doing it again earlier, I took out the fuse and they stopped (understandably) but when the fuse went back in they started immediately despite being in the off position and the key out of the ignition.

Could you run the key in the door reset thing by me, I can't seem to find much info about that?

Thanks

key in drivers side turn key to lock it,keep it there for a fear seconds, then turn key to the left then remove, then try the fob key opening and closing, then try the wipers if this does not work you may have an electrical issue with the rocker switch or wiper motor emoticon-0148-yes.gif
