misfiring to 3 cylinders

Featured Replies

My Fabia comfort 8V, v-reg, 1.4, petrol, is misfiring to 3 cylinders. In neutral, first, second and reverse gears at low speed (unto 40mph ish) but once driving faster in fourth and firth gear seams to run fine.

The coil pack has been replaced but problem is still there.

Took it to one garage and he could not figure it out. Told me that it was related to the computer and he could not retrieve enough information because he was not a skoda dealer or specialist.

Took it to garage 2 and they said it was Suspected ECU fault but would cost me about £500 to determine the exact problem before fixing it!

Has anyone had a similar problem or have any ideas?

Many Thanks

£500 to do a diagnostics??? thats a bit steep.......try reposting this in the main fabia mkI section as you will get a better answer!!!

There could be several reasons for this other than "lets just replace the ECU".... B)

Could be fuel filter clogged, bad/dirty engine oil, thermostat broken, bad earth, bad battery, fouled spark plugs........these are just maybes (stab in the dark things that I would check first to just rule them out!) B)
