Best performance for your money

Featured Replies

Hi there, xmas is coming and I would like to buy me an upgrade for my RsII

Which upgrade do you reckon offers the best performance for your money?

A full costum made exhaust would cost me 830p

(only downpipe and 200cell cat?)

the only rear part (for better sound) 290p

a costum remap about 200p

whiteline Rear Sway bar 140p

lower springs 130p

lower springs and shocks 380p

better disk and pads

new intake kit? (forge-ITG)

do you suggest something better?

I'm not keen to racetracks - maybe I'll try in spring time

thanks

Dude i can get you a full straight through system for the price of your down pipe n cat although it is without a cat. Also to really benefit from this you'd need a map aswell.

Induction kit you'll notice abit of extra noise but again for full potential you'd need a map.

Personally I'd go for the rarb. Makes a huge difference to handling and as you can corner quicker you can accelerate quicker so car will seem faster if you get my drift.

Engine performance

The stage 1 remap is by far the best value performance gain you will get, followed by a good intake.

Exhaust

The full exhaust will provide no more power gains than you would get by just fitting a downpipe. This is because the cat back section of the car provides no power increase, only noise.

Chassis

By far the cheapest and best value chassis mod is the rear anti roll bar

Brakes

Fit some mintex M1144, or pagid pads with some motul RBF600 and you'll be happy.

From there o, everything becomes more expensive for smaller improvments

Sy, do you think this will give a big improvement?

My complaint at the moment with the brakes is they don't seem to 'bite' very well.

I am a bit put off by the big brake upgrade by cost, installation and insurance.

Would racing pads and fluid make a big difference?

Do they need to be heated up first like proper racing brakes or are they good to go from cold?

Cheers,

Sorry for the off topic.

Pads make a good increase in braking performance, but a good set of pads will handle best better s well so you maintain stronger brakes for longer. The likes of mintex m1144, pagid rs 4-2-1 or ds2500 work well from cold, and hot

Thing is a set of good pads will be between £100-150. For an extra £100 you could have a 312 setup
