Problem with Electronic Engine Mangement light

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am the owner of a SKODA FABIA COMFORT 1.4, I recently had an Electronic Engine Manangement warning sign light come on, which stays permanently on. I took the car to my kwick fit garage for a service and they found a few faults regarding break pads, hand break, break drum, a tire change, a fault in the injection system. They are mentioned to me that the coating on the exhaust is deteriorating but they didn't think it was serious enough to do anything about. They made the repairs to the vehicle and when I picked it up EEM warning light came back on, I took it back the next day and the mechanic had a look again, but they were not sure what was exactly wrong. So I picked up the car they had managed to turn off the light. But it has today come back on. I am wondering if this is a common problem with the Skoda Fabia? Should I take the car back to the garage when they clearly don't know what the fault is?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome to this forum - dare I suggest the problem might be the garage you're going to. Might be better using a Skoda dealer or specialist who can properly interrogate the car and find out why the light is on? How long have you had it?

Sounds like a faulty EGR valve.
