Finally my new Octavia is on its way, I'm hopefully due to pick it up in the first week of April. :woohoo:

The dealer has freely admitted that they are looking forward to seeing it as its got a lot of extra's they have not seen fitted or seen before - and thats the problem.

How do I check that all the extras are actually present. Some are dead easy (leather seats) but some are not.

In particular how do you check for

- curtain airbags (apart from the obvious test of setting them off)

- ESP (is there a button ??)

- Soundsystem, 12 Loudspeakers (is there a separate amp for look for ??, special speaker names etc ???)

Also any general advice on specifc things to check or issues others have found when picking up a new Octy II.

Curtain airbags should have a small panel that tears open when they go off mine is on the side of the seats at the top and helpfully say airbag but that is on the previous Octy

Esp there shoud be a switch some where

Sound system....all I can suggest is take a cd and stick your ear all over the car to find out where the sound comes out from

Check for misted up indicators

ESP switch should be on the panel in front of the gear stick.

Standard sound system has two speakers in each door (one big and one little) i would assume you'd have 4 more somewhere (and an amp somewhere, but not sure where).

I think that's probably the side airbags which are built into the seat - my old company car had them exaclty as you describe.

You have given me an idea - there might be a similar marking or panel in the roof arch for the curtain airbags - anyone know for sure ??

I think with curtain airbags there's an 'Airbag' marking on the 'A' pillar (between the windscreen and the side window).

Mine's due at the dealership (allegedly) on Monday, so starting to count the days.....

I have a suspicion the uprated speakers have a 'Sound System' label on the speaker grilles, but I'm not sure. Going to try to attach a picture.....

That's definitely not the standard speakers.
