Dazman's Octavia MK1 VRS

Featured Replies

Right I thought it was about time I got a few pics on here. I havent done too much so far but heres a summary of so far!

I brought my black magic octavia off the for sale section of briskoda, first thing I done was give her a good old clean up:

First thing I noticed was my number plates were a bit grim so I ordered myself some new ones, with the tag line "It's a skoda, Honest" :giggle:

The next thing for me was I really wanted to hear the dumpvalve so after speaking to a good friend of mine who is well in the know when it comes to 20v turbo engines I decided my best option was a jetex cone filter, a breather filter and forge 007p reverse mounted so I can hear it better. I know everyones gonna be on my back about 'heat soak' but my girlfriend lives down a country lane that floods at the first spot of rain so a CAI would be immpractical to say the least!

The next job for me was to find out what all the fuss is about HIDS so i got myself a 6k kit from hids4us.co.uk and I have to say I love it, so much more light on the road and it looks smart too :)

Finally im rather anal when it comes to cleaning my car so heres a couple of snaps I took, firstly me and my mates LCR having a spruce up:

And secondly just a little arty snap I took

Time for another little update, I know in my previous thread I said I didnt want a CAI but this ABD one came up too cheap to say no to so I'v decided to give it a go. I seriously doubted it would make much difference but now I have had it fitted about a week I have to admit I was wrong. The turbo seems to spool up a lot quicker. Just keeping my fingers crossed I dont suck up any puddles down the back roads I travel down every day :giggle:

Next job on my list is to get my 2011 badges that i purchased from PastyBoy fitted. Just waiting for some nicer weather!

Got my new 2011 pasty boy badges and center caps fitted. My apologys for the dirtiness of my car I ran out of time to clean it before the snow hit here :p

Right I havent been on here in a while so time for some updates,

First of all I have now fitted a LCR front splitter

skodasplitter.jpg

I have also added a boost gauge and SWG vent pod, apoligies for the dodgy picture the vent looks all wonky but this was taken before i had refitted all the clips correctly!

skodaboost.jpg

Finally I have purchased a FK automotive cat back system, had it fitted today but it doesnt sit correctly so Im not going to post any pictures until im happy with how it looks :giggle:

Next on my to do list: im currently in the process of getting it booked in for a custom remap, then I better get my brakes upgraded i suppose

very nice mate.

Right finally got my exhaust fitted properly, after having to take it to powerflow and get them to modify my back box as i couldnt get it to sit in the original cut out in the bumper correctly i am now happy with how it sits and love how it has a nice quiet burble to it at idle and cruising speeds, until you open it up and it lets out a lovely howl :)

skodaexhaustfitted.jpg

I now already have it booked in for a custom remap at 'tune it up' next week so I will let you know how it goes :)

Ah will have to sort out what im doing for my birthday as is the 1st April so not sure what im doing yet. But I know iv got that weekend booked off work :D

Had my custom remap done last week by 'tune it up' in lowestoft and have to say I am amazed by the transformation. Even though i kept saying I wanted as much power as possible he had his sensible head on and convinced me to stick to a safe map for now and I have to say having drove it for a few days he was right, more than enough power for everyday use! The figures off the dyno at SCA performance center: 214.7bhp and 220lb/ft torque.

Next on my to do list: Next week will be getting the knocking noise from my suspension sorted, believe its anti-roll bar bushes. Maybe go for polybushes if I find some for a reasonable price?

Then get a brake upgrade sorted as my rear discs are starting to look a bit shoddy, and it was an advisory on the last MOT :S

How much was the rr at sca? I assume it was just a power run.

  • Author

It was just under 50quid for a power run.
