fabia 2 brake pad wear warning light

Featured Replies

Brake pad warning light is on my wifes dash. The pads have got plenty of meat on them, at least 5mm. The local stealer said it could be because a brake light had blown, which it had. i changed it, but the warning light is still on the dash!!.

Any ideas ? i have checked the brake fluid and it is ok, it has ben changed regularly.

Please help.

try checking the wires to the wear sensors, usually brake off i.e this puts a fault on the dash

I thought the Fabia 2 didn't have any brake-pad warning?

I know mine doesn't have it atleast.

Which symbol is it that's lit?

It will be the bloody handbrake LOL ;)

does my pre fl fabia 1.2htp have this brakke pad light?

my pre facelift 1.6 sport has brake pad sensor.

is it the correct bulb youve fitted ??

have you made sure youve checked the inner brake pads ?

I didn't even have to change the bulb. It was out and when I started to take the cluster out via the boot it came on!! Maybe a loose connection or simply the filament had reconnected??

I will check the inner pads tomo. Does anybody know which side has the wear indicator? I know it is only on one side of the car, nearside or offside?

Anyway don't the pads wear evenly, why would they not?

What light is it?

If its a yellow light that looks like this (0) then that's the pad light, see near side front caliper.

If its a red P in a circle that's either handbrake or fluid.

Defo pad light (0), and orange. However I have checked the brake fluid and the level is fine, it was only changed 10 months ago.

From the outside (looking with the wheel on) the pads are pretty thick, at least 50% left on them.

Probably find inner pad is worn down further and it cuts the sensor at approx 65% anyhow.

Will prob put some new pads on. Any tips or reccomendations?

Very reluctant to get the local stealer to do it £100 ish!!!

yeah as said n/s/f for connector.no the pads don't always wear even, pretty common for the inner pads to be more worn than the outer.if the pads are ok maybe a good idea to change that bulb anyway and also try disconnecting the brake pads warning sensor and clean the connections with wd or similar
