Changing convenience module

Featured Replies

I might have asked before but couldn't find it off hand

I have a vRS convenience module to fit in my car. Can I assume if I note the soft coding off my current module, I can plug in the new module and it will work OK once the same coding is entered? Bearing in mind the reason I am changing it is because of the old non vRS VS vRS conflict - It might work right away as normal? Is anything relating to remote central locking / the actual central locking likely to need re-coding once done too?

Plug and play!

Could it be that easy?

Without going out and having a root around I really couldn't comment!

As for Central Locking, As long as it knows it has 4 doors and 2 power windows, and your choice of unlocking!

Older cars I've scanned have been coded 66

Newer ones incl. mine are coded 18!

In terms of the number of doors / power windows etc I always have had the same as a vRS anyway. Just hoping this will resolve my doors shut & puddle lights ON issues.... :D

Yep definitely plug and play and as long as you tell it what you have on the car then it should work.

Just like how I have seen my CCM on many different cars but it is just coded differently depending on number of doors, electric windows and what features you want enabling.

Remember seeing somewhere in VCDS where you tell it how many doors you have.

How much are these second hand? Would like 3 flash on my early model vRS.
