hello chaps , newbie here .

well av just obtained my 1st vrs , so far so good

i swaped my last car for the vrs , previous car was a volvo 850 t5r http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/showthread.php?t=31665

link should work lol

the vrs is red , 106k , fsh , 3 owners am the 4th , needs disks and pads on the back and disks on the front

well the vrs is a nice car, does all the things i look for in a car very well

problem is , is that it feels slow to my old 280bhp 360lb tq in the t5r

so whats the best way to go for more power that reilable

been looking at a decat filter and remap , got my eye on some fk coilovers aswell ,some braided brake hoses and a good brake disk and pad combo . all advise welcome good and bad

cheers

I think it will always feel less compared to the ovlov. But a decent recirc ( forge 007 ) and intake plus down pipe/decat should see you at around 220 bhp with a remap. After that your looking at 4 bar fuel reg, fmic and hybrid ko3s turbo for around 260 ish bhp

Hi and welcome. For the discs i find pagid discs and pads good from euro car parts which forum members get a 25% discount. For a remap i've only heard good things about shark performance. I use a compbrake recirclating dump valve which i havent had any problems with

thanks lads , the cars got a forge recirc on , not sure which type , are the pagids good , what are they like for fast road and track day use, whats the revo maps like

Think maybe for track use you would be better off upgrading the pad but the discs should be fine as they are OE spec as are the pads. Unless youre going for serious track time then calipers and discs would be a better option like cupra r brembos etc.

Personally from experiance i wouldn't bother fitting drilled or grooved discs as i found they offered no difference for normal fast road use and the grooves can wear out quicker than a normal disc

Revo

For the same sort of power + torque as the Volvo you'd be looking at a K04 or K03S hybrid turbo or even a GT28 plus all the other bits needed to run them, probably cost the same again as what you paid for the car.

If you've not had a chance to drive a few Mk1 VRS's before you might want to get yours on a dyno or (cheaper) borrow a boost gauge and check how much boost it's producing as it might already have a remap on it, a lot of them do. If it's much more than 10psi/0.7bar then probably mapped already

I'm sorry but I'd have kept the Volvo!

Vrs's are a good car but that Volvo looks tidy and to get near that power will cost as much as the vrs is worth.

Welcome btw

Thanks lads. The volvo was a great car but the only problem is that tunners are few and far between. And finding a good 1 is hard. Can revo live map the car. Or do they just suply remaps.
