lolz

whats the best one to go for

vibra technics left and right? £330 from awesome gti?

dont think they do uprated ones for the fabia unless im wrong

Yes they do....from my post

ENGINE MOUNTS

Vibra-Technics = VAG220M = This is a whole replacement lower rear link (dog-bone).

Vibra-Technics = VAG210M = This is a whole replacement drivers side engine mounting.

Vibra-Technics = VAG200M = This is a rebuilt passenger side engine mounting and requires your original mounting!

WARNING: using all the above Vibra-Technics mounts will result in too much vibration for day to day driving. This has been found out by several members of this forum, and V.T themselves only recommend them for racing track cars!

And the linky to VT

The vibrateknics from the 1.8t's fit the pd130's!!

Do NOT do it however!! I had all 3 vibratecknics mounts and honestly it was unbelievable!! A can in the drinks holder just used to dance and jump around at idle!!

Trust me this once its not even worth contemplating! I sold mine to bobby singh on ukmkiv's (very high powered golf tdi) and he didnt even want to run them!!

Just replace with standard! Honestly!

Serious? wtf... that Tom. with the GTB'd Ibiza runs them and said they're fine

Apparantly its only the dog bone which causes made vibrations? the other 2 are ok?

If I remember correctly, Tom has barely any trim left to vibrate though. Saw him in Derby recently and I reckon he's not too far off as stripped as T.Spark's Ibiza now.

No you are sadly mistaken!!

The dogbone is bareable!

Waste £330 then at least i can say i told u so :)

Thats not the one i used

Although mines were for a golf gt tdi pd130

Honestly they are made for petrols or track only use

I wouldnt recommend one on a daily driver derv

I'll get one and report back I think, being told 2 many different things, gotta judge for myself

To be fair Jase, the design of the mk4 mounts is different to the Fabia, so the results may be (slightly) different.

I'd still expect it to be bone shaking tho - the uprated mounts I had in my mk4 were enough to knock your fillings out!

Lol at the 'trust me this once' comment :)

I snapped an engine mount in my old Fiesta XR2. Swapped them all for uprated ones at the same time - can't remember what brand as it was in 1994.

Anyway... It was unbearable. Put up with it for a week and replaced them all with standard OEM Ford items.

Please update thread with next dental bill :)

Just spoke to Ali and he said he fitted a brand new mount (that side) 5,000 miles ago... Looks like I have no choice but to go for the uprated one, but I'm confused

Look at the photo, the inners of the bracket that connects from the mount to the engine has had its inners ripped out, but the mount that Vibra-Technics sell isn't that part, its what it bolts on to

So surely I'd need the mount + a new bracket, but if I broke the bracket itself then surely an uprated mount wont change anything? can anyone explain/help?

I like the way your posts are specifically designed not to get a reaction.

You got superpro dogbone mount aint you Luke? Ever thought that might be putting more strain on the various engine mounts?

Maybe all the launches at Santa Pod ? Extra strain ?

Somethings got to give eventually :(

just ordered the snapped one direct from VT. it's a road mount but they said if it does cause too much vibration they'll refund me. they didn't say they only recconmend them for track cars at all, they're fine on the road but it may need fine tuning to get it perfect

really helpful, will keep you all updated

Ok thanks

I have been speaking to my colleague on this one (he did the design work on the original)

The torque link was designed for the petrol engine and gives unacceptable levels of vibration on the diesel.

We have not had any negative feed back directly on the right hand mount when used on the VRS

We may decide to develop a complete set of mount specially for this application early next year so we may canvass the support of forum members to assist in the development

Update when there fitted!

You'll need to replace both sides! This should be fun :)

VT said just 1 side will be fine

I seem to find myself agreeing with Jase lately (a worrying sign :p ), but i'd have thought that both sides would need uprating at the same time...

I'm not a engine mount specialist, but wouldn't a more solid mount on one side put added strain on the other oem mount???
