Changed Coolant and now car wont start

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Newbee here, have had a search through the forum but not sure i could find an answer.

Basically I had a failure of a coolant hose while travelling. This was not initially noticed so I topped up the system with water. Eventually soo much coolant was leaking out the car that I could not travel a few miles without the coolant warning light flashing at me. Called out the RAC and hose with hole was replaced. System was topped up with water to get me home. Next day I drained the coolant out of the car and replaced with fresh g12++ coolant. Now when I turn the ignition on I get the little coil light flashing at me and the car wont start.

Have checked brake lights (as that seems to be a common fault, but not sure if it would be stopping the car starting)

55 plate 1.4 diesel.

Any ideas at all??

Thanks

Jon

Yes the engine is turning over, just not catching. Its like it wants to start, but for some reason it isnt!
