Castor value - not within specification?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just had a look through my vehicle hand book & found a suspension check print out that shows on the current measurements that the left caster is 4 degrees 32 and in the green & the right castor 4 degrees 1 & in the red.

There's a note at the bottom of the page saying that one ore more values are not within specification & that tire wear, handling and safety problems may result :-/

All the other areas are green - does it matter that they released the car to me like this??

The caster angle it not adjustable per se, but there is a little bit of play available on the subframe which you can use to fine tune it, I seem to remember ther being a proper jig to set the alignment of it 100% but tbh it makes so little difference it's not worth worrying about.

Thanks Tom,

I was beginning to wonder if anyone was able to answer this question!

Its like Tom said but if I can add - If your vehicle drives straight then you can feel happy about that spread in angle. A lot of times bigger number on left help to compensate possible lefy pull by camber of road. Despite in "RED" its all good on caster angle - DONT WORRY AT ALL.
