Hi,

I have a mark 2 Fabia vrs and have just noticed a high pitched single tone beep coming from the rear centre of the engine bay in front of the bulkhead, this beep which is constant appears when the ignition is switched on and the dashboard panel warning lights sequence is started and goes through it's cycle, the beep is not there when the ignition is switched to the first position, i.e radio on only. When the engine is started the beep is not apparent, but when the engine is switched off back to position 2 on the ignition switch it is still there, the beep disappears when it is switched back to the first position and there is quite a few click which sounds like relays clicking in, I have not noticed this constant beep before, does anyone know if this is part of the start up system and is meant to happen or not. Hope that someone can help with this.

I'd say its the fuel pump you can hear??

It's the throttle body cycling by the sounds of it.

Thanks folk for the feedback you have put my mind at rest, I thought that it was more that likely normal, but it is alway good to hear someone else confirm your thoughts.
