Cost of puncture repairs

Featured Replies

Fabianski that's exactly like the one I had, mine was much nearer the side.

Kwik fit said if the bolt measures less than 6mm then they can repair it.

Try somewhere else for another opinion.

They had to remove the bolt to measure it too, they couldn't say at first but were doubtfull.

Plus I kept saying that's not fixable is it? So they restored my faith in Kwik Fit - they could easily said no and sold a new tyre.

As long as the tyre hasn't been run flat that easily repairable!!

If you live anywhere near lowestoft I'll do it for you too.

I had the feeling they wanted to keep the tyre and resell it later as a used 1.

Normal price if I take the wheel in is £5 at a back street place. Never had any problems with the work.

Got one when I was out and about, £10 but they had to take it off the car. Was a bigish place but not a national chain in Penrith. Even used torque wrench.

Never paid more then £5 for a repair in birmingham

Bloodied ell - just realised this thread started in 2011?!!!!

Still my local ATS only charges £15 recently

Backstreet garages still the cheapest (ONLY if u have non-mint alloys like mine) ;-)

my local tyre fitter charged £12 for a repair that kwik fit quoted "unrepairable"!!  - nail going in at angle.

Sounds like its cheap where you guys live. Here its £29+!! I think quick fit wanted £35 to repair a tyre which i bought £27 new.....needless to say I went elsewhere.

With times being harder, things like repairs aiming to reduce big-ticket spend will naturally go up in price - market forces.

Still a 5er in birmingham :)
