Hi,

Featured Replies

I have just collected a new Yeti 2.0 TDI SE 4x4. This is my first ever new car. I'm retired and decided everyone needs a new car at least once in their life. The Yeti is a pleasure to drive and I feel sure we'll be happy together, but I find the digital speed display stuck on kph extremely annoying. This is just plain stupid and I see it is a regular topic of discussion on these most useful forums, but I also see it can be fixed by changing the country to Australia via VAG-COM, so I'm confident it can be resolved.

After all this waffle, I do have a question. The VAG-COM cables offered on Ebay for under a tenner do not include the Yeti in their list of compatible vehicles. Does the Yeti need a different cable or are the lists out of date on the Ebay listings? Will these cheap cables do the job or must one pay £250 for the full VCDS diagnostics package? Is the software supplied with the cheap cables up to the job? I only want to sort out the digital odometer.

Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Full VCDS is only ever THE option to get for a reliable setup. You will not be sorry with the purchase in the long run. :) Can diagnose things before even taking the car in if there's any issues - saving your precious time, and potential extra garage time (even if under warranty)

Of course, the other option is to find someone local with VCDS who can make the one tweak for you and perhaps be on standby (so to speak) for emergencies. :)
