nokian wr d3 v dunlop winter sport 3d

Featured Replies

Has anyone had either of these tyres?

i have been searching for a 215/60/16 winter tyre for a yeti when it arrives still waiting for the cheque from the insurance from our last yeti that was written off .

After reading lots of reviews i have came to the conclusion that thy all do the same job . My tyres have both in stock, nokian 107 and dunlop 125. Are th dunlop worth the extra cash? Have read that nokians are best in snow but not as good in dry and wear faster. Iv had goodyear vector 4seasons,snowtrac 3.cooper but never tried nokian or dunlop.

Any one tried either brands? Wandering if i should just go 205/55/16 as much more availability.

not the best time to get a 4x4 yeti and buy 4 tyres!

I bought Nokian WR G2's last year and ran them for 4,500 miles, they were very impressive and wore just 1mm on the fronts and almost nothing on the rears.

I would not hesitate to buy them again

The 3D is already a couple of years on the market and is now replaced with the 4D.

I had 205/55 16 in VR on my VRS after Continental TS810 in the same size.

The 3Ds were far better than the Contis, although the contis won the tests before

the 3D came on the market. (even last year the 3D still won a couple of tests).

The 3D was grippier and quieter than the TS810, overall the comfier and safer tyre to

run in our winter (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).

I still run 3Ds on the audi and already have a new set lying in my garage (the ones on

the car still have 5-5.5mm, but will come off soon.)

Iv had goodyear vector 4seasons

I can't help and don't want to hijack your thread but what do you think of the 4seasons as I am considering these for year round use on my Yeti?

I went for the Nokian WR D3's,and bought them as a steel wheel/tyre package from Mytyres. Can't say how good they are,as I have only had them on for 3 weeks, and it has not been really cold or snowed yet. They do get good reviews though.

I Have 2 as new vector 225/50/17s only used for a few weeks as couldnt get until end of last winter. Awy to sell them if you interested. Great tyres made all the difference to our 2wd yeti

Thanks, but I am still at the thinking stage at the moment, most likely to try this Winter with the Summer tyres and see how I get on.
