Columbus and Iphone link

Featured Replies

Hi,

Has Anyone got any rough ideas how eas, y and what it may cost, to fit MEDIA IN IPOD/phone adapter LEAD. (can purchase from e-bay)

(would doing this nvalidate skoda warranty?)

Apparently an Adapter can connect Ipods/Iphones to using MEDIA IN. apparently it will allow MEDIA IN to be used for playing audio files on third generation radios and radio-navigation systems, and allow for the unit to control music titles and playback lists on ipod/iphone displayed via the factory fitted car radio/ nav system whilst keeping it charged.

I have an Columbus RNS 510 fitted (I think).

I've just got a Superb Elegance today it's got an audio aux but no ipod/phone media link that I can find. I have managed to sink my Iphone 3GS running new operating system 5.0.1 and the phone side seems to be working fine via blue tooth :)

I would be playing about with columbus settings etc.. now but my wifes gone and taken it out :(

cheers

Hi and hope your enjoying the Superb (when you get the chance),

Just read your post and have got a couple of bits of advice. As you are driving an Elegance you will have Bluetooth connectivity. If you are looking to play music through the phone, once connected, you can scroll through the Maxi dot display and play music straight through handset.

If however you are going to play the music through a seperate MP3 player without bluetooth (without using AUX in) you would need to have the MDI fitted, but admittedly not a cheap or easy job.

Would definately advise to either store all music files on to Bluetooth compatible device or straight on to an SD card.

Hope this helps,

That is one of the factory settings that you can not change in maxidot.

If you want kph removed, you need to reprogram to an australian setting through VCDS Vagcom.

and welcome to the site!
