Uprated battery and Alternator

Featured Replies

Hi,

does anyone have any information on the battery and alternator capacity fitted as standard to a 1.2tsi Yeti?

I was wondering if Skoda fit uprated parts when the electric seat, heated seats, heated front windscreen and uprated sound system options are fitted.

I would imaging the current draw, particularly in winter when front and rear heated screens plus heated seats and lights are all in use will be quite considerable and that the standard battery and alternator will struggle to keep things running while still leaving sufficient power in the battery for reliable operation.

Anyone have any information on this?

Hi

The alternator fitted to the 1.2 engine is a 110 amp output, more than capable of keeping the battery charged whatever you turn on.

Surely Skoda fit a suitably specced alternator and battery for the models maximum possible electrical load.

Any models with fewer electrical options simply benefit from potentially longer battery life?

I believe cars with stop/start technology do have uprated components to cope with repeated engine starting and longer periods of electrical draw without the engine running?
