Fabia number plate light

Featured Replies

My 2010 (59 plate) Fabia Sport number plate light stopped working , went to replace the festoon bulb only to find that the light unit was corroded and the plastic male / female plug disintegrated on separation .

Have ordered a new light unit but the the female plug on the wiring within the tailgate has no pins as there broken off so how do I connect the new light unit ? The other option is to buy the whole plug loom within the boot but why should I ? Skoda are not interested and say these number plate light units made by Hella are always going faulty " Not amused at all " with a 20 month old car you do not expect this to happen :swear: :swear: :swear:

Since the car is not 3 years old surely replacement of the light unit and a good repair by fitting by a new connector to the wiring should be by the dealer under warranty.

Maybe the units are crap but that issue should be between Skoda HQ and Hella .....
