Remap and insurance

Featured Replies

Doesn't look like I'll be modding till my insurance is up for renewal :(

Changing from a heavily modified 260bhp alfa gta to a vrs estate would add £200 for the remainding 7 months of policy..... That's stage 1 with Chris knott including briskoda membership :(

The real sting is upping the excess to £500 due to remap!

Anyone else added a remap mid policy with Chris knott? What deal were your offered?

I have my insurance with C Knott too. My excess never went up but I think I had to pay about £40 extra for the remaining 6 months. I think you have to bite the bullet when amending policy! When the renewal came up shop around and get CK to match or better it, I did and got it nearly cheaper than the year before for non-modded.

Do you really need that extra year no claims bonus though? Might be cheaper to ditch the policy and start a fresh one.

Don't forget Graham Sykes for a quote....

As above, it may be worth shopping around and trying a modification friendly insurer.

I'll loose money already paid though:( the reimbursement of cancelling the policy isn't a true pro rata
