Engine Management light

Featured Replies

Few weeks ago I was driving home from work and all of a sudden i lost all power. Had a minimal amount to cawl home. There was no smoke or anything so it wasnt any pipes or anytinhg like that, there was also no noises. After a few miles the engine management light came on, and it keeps returning. Every time it returns the power goes from the engine.

Any ideas?

buy yourself a diagnostic scanner. £25 ish off ebay.

i got the sinking feeling when the mrs told me the engine light came on......so ordered a scanner.

turned out to be a faulty glow plug......replaced the plugs, reset the fault and never had a prob since.

not saying your problem is a glow plug, but a good starting point is a diagnostic scanner

Cheers man,

It had a scan, and had some work done at the garage. They thought it was a faulty fuel pump, but turns out its not, as im still getting the problem
