I've had a power steering pump pack up so obtained a new one and fitted it myself, however, i can not get rid of the light on the dashboard.

The power steering now works but gives varying amounts of assistant. Sometimes the steering is very light and sometimes it can be heavy.

Any idea? Could it be the steering sensor that fits in the rack? Also, i know sometimes there is a problem with the earth on the alternator. Does anyone have a picture of this as i can not locate it!

Hi, had VAGCOM and tried to clear the code but it returned immediately, and yeah, the system was bled correctly.
